The Table Grape Canicattì becomes part of the official list of typical Italian products with the certification PGI (protected geographical indication) that was released on November 25, 1997.
Being a product of PGI certification requires that at least one phase of the production process should be carried out in the region of Sicily.
The Table Grape Canicattì PGI is the product obtained by crossing two varieties, Bicane and Muscat of Hamburg.
The geographical area of ​​production includes several areas of the municipalities of Agrigento and Caltanissetta which are characterized by the cultivation of Italy.
Grape harvesting Table of Canicattì PGI begins, in coastal areas, towards the end of August and continues until September, while in the cooler, as Delia Canicattì and ends in December.
The land and the typical Mediterranean climate, with dry summers and mild winters, contribute to obtain a product with exceptional organoleptic characteristics and unique.
