The production area of ​​Pear Mantovana PGI includes the territory of several municipalities of the Province of Mantova.
The varieties of cultivated Pear Mantovana PGI are six, all characterized by a sweet taste more or less aromatic but are distinguished by the color and roughness of the skin.
William has a smooth skin, yellow-pink.
The Max Red Bartlett has a yellow background color, almost completely covered with over-bright red often streaked.
The Conference is green-yellowish with diffused rustiness.
La Doyenne du Comice is smooth, light green-yellow and pink.
The Abbot Fetel has peel light green-yellowish and russeting around the stalk.

Each variety has its own cultivation period and the average weight of the Pear Mantovana PGI varies from 158 grams to 260 grams of the Conference of Abbot Fetel.
