The Lemon of Syracuse joined the official list of typical Italian products with the certification PGI (protected geographical indication) that was released on February 4, 2011.
Being a product of PGI certification requires that at least one phase of the production process should be carried out in the region of Sicily.
Between the sea and the hinterland of Syracuse, is a fertile and flat costs. Never more than 210 meters above sea level, is the most suitable land for growing lemons.

The Lemon of Syracuse PGI is composed of at least 34% of juice, so it is ideal for juices, has a thick skin, aromatic, fine grain, providing high quality essential oils and finally also contains high levels of vitamin C and citric acid.
