La Focaccia di Recco with Cheese joined the official list of typical Italian products with the certification PGI (protected geographical indication) that was released on January 14, 2015.
Being a product of PGI certification requires that at least one phase of the production process should be carried out in the region of Liguria.
The PGI Focaccia di Recco Cheese is produced throughout the territory of the municipality of Recco and the neighboring municipalities of Avegno, Sori and Camogli, in the Province of Genoa.
La Focaccia di Recco with Cheese PGI is a simple and healthy, with few ingredients, far from any kind of sophistication, yet so difficult to reproduce. It ‘a bakery product obtained by processing a dough made of wheat flour, extra virgin olive oil Italian, water, salt, stuffed with “fresh cheese” and then baked in the oven.
