The Miele Varesino becomes part of the official list of typical Italian products with the certification PDO (protected designation of origin) that was released April 1, 2014.
Being a product PDO certification requires that the entire production process must be carried out in the region of Lombardy.
Honey is a natural food, rich in enzymes and minerals, vitamins, simple sugars and ready for immediate assimilation.
Honey is produced by bees foraged processing the nectar from the flowers or honeydew of most plants. The nectar is laid in honeycombs which continues the process of preparing and water evaporation.
Honey contains many valuable trace elements that differentiate it from all other sweeteners and make it alive, vital and of high biological value and nutritional. Not only, therefore, a sweetener, but an important food in the diet of all days.
We can distinguish the following types of Miele Varesino PDO:
The Acacia, straw-white, light amber, light and delicate aroma taste very sweet with late crystallization.
The Wildflower, reddish in color, with strong aroma, pleasant taste and variable depending on the area of ​​production and with a normal crystallization. This honey is extracted from the pollen of flowers and honeydew derived from the sap of various plants.
Chestnut, dark, almost black, with a powerful and pungent aroma and flavor and slightly bitter, has a crystallization delayed and irregular.
